It is not Jelly Bean 4.2, but the new 612.27MB update brings Android 4.1.1, Sense 4+, better camera performance and some new features, optimized power management as well new start site and event / calendar view in album.
The software depending on your phone CID might be already rolling via over the air, but in case you still don’t have it, just give it some time, it will show its face sooner or later. The software version for some European phones such as the one we had in test is branded as 3.16.401.8 and you better be on the wifi as 612.27MB is a lot of data for most 3G data plans on the continent.
Currently HTC offers Jelly Bean 4.1 for HTC One X+, HTC One X and as of now the HTC One S has joined the exclusive JB club. The flagship HTC Butterfly currently available in the US also comes with 4.1 Jelly Bean with more phones to get Android 4.1 in 2013.
Just bear in mind that CES is just some two weeks away and that Europeans will see a lot of new phones at the Mobile World Congress that takes place in early February, a month and a half from now. Let’s just hope that some of the flagship phones other than Nexus might come with Android 4.2 by then.
