HTC has also announced that its new HTC One (M8) will be available as both Developer and Google Play editions which should appeal to those looking to enjoy stock Android 4.4.2 Kitkat or a completely unlocked bootloader. (None of that Sense nonsense, eh? Ed)
While HTC Sense 6 certainly has its advantages so does the stock Google Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS. The HTC One Google Play Edition, although with identical hardware, will be a bit more expensive at US $699 while the Developer Edition, with unrestricted access, will cost the same as the normal HTC One (M8), US $649. In case you missed it before, the Developer Edition is practically the same as the consumer one as it also has Sense 6, except it is SIM unlocked and can be flashed with whatever software or ROM you desire.
The Google Play Edition should be already available for pre-order on Google Play Store, while there is no word on Developer Edition availability.
