Although it is a mid-range phone, it is not exactly a small device. It features a 5-inch 720p display, 8-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM and it's powered by a MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor. An early listing claims it measures 142 × 71.9 × 9.15 mm. It has a microSD slot, too, but there is no word on internal storage.
It appears that it will cost just a tad north of $200 in China, but at this point it is not clear whether it will be a global model, or whether it will be reserved for Asian markets.
The plasticky design is not bad for a $200 device and it will ship in black, white, blue, yellow and communist red. Whether or not it will show up in western markets remains to be seen, but it looks like an interesting no frills mid-range device. It might not be as cheap as a Moto G, but it has a somewhat bigger screen, higher resolution camera, microSD slot and a four more Cortex A7 cores under the bonnet.
