Lava Pixel V1 gets Marshmallow update

Before the rest of the pack

Segmentation is the biggest cancer of the Google's Android ecosystem and only handful devices have been updated to the latest Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Surprisingly, Lava Pixel V1 is one of the first.

Lava is a well known Indian brand and its International revenue has exceded $1 Billion and is tipped to keep growing.

Lava Pixel V1 has a 5.5 inch 1280x720 display, 2.0 GB RAM, MediaTek 1.3GHz Quad core processor with a decent specification. The phone, with 32GB RAM, sells for Rs 8,999 or €127.5 Euro / $135.5 USD which is a great deal.

This puts companies such as Samsung, Sony, LG, Lenovo, HTC, Xiaomi, insert-any-high-end-brand to shame as the smaller player released with the Android 6.0 before any of them.

The Doze and App Standby should help improving the battery life with Marshmallow Android 6.0 on Lava Pixel P1. The Android 6.0 brings better permission settings, but this is somethings that we saw on many Far East phones before.

The Android 6.0 update has a refreshed Google Now Launcher as well as fast alphabetic scrolling and a predictive suggest app.
