Kutcher defects?

The bloke who played Steve Jobs in the not-watched reverential bio-pic Jobs has taken to hawking phones from other vendors.

Ashton Kutcher, who said taking the role of the Apple messiah changed his life, appears on the Motorola blog complaining that the smartphone is stuck and innovation has dried up.

We guess that the self-proclaimed Apple fanboy is starting to get disappointed with the way Apple is going since the death of Steve Jobs. Either that or the movie so stuffed up his career he is having to take any work that comes along.

He is now saying that the Lenovo Moto smartphone is the way forward.
Needless to say the Tame Apple Press is unimpressed with the man who played their god even mentioning the name of another brand.

One site calling the adverts “advertising Motorola's latest devices, disguised as consumer satisfaction lab tests.” Clearly they have never looked at their own review pages when they come to looking at the iPhone.

However Kutcher has a “title” in Lenovo Product Engineer and has been flogging its Yoga Tablets. That was fair enough, Apple had not got around to copying them yet.

But now that Lenovo is banking on its Moto phones Kutcher's defection away from all things Applish is more striking.

The post demonstrates the Moto's abilities in

. While the Apple iPhone bends, the recent DROID Turbo 2 has been regarded as one of the most resilient in consumer class smartphones. It can fall 900 feet and still work – even if it is a bit cracked.

It is pretty clear that Kutcher's appearance in Moto ads is a sign that times are a changing in the smartphone business with innovation moving away from Silicon Valley to China.
