Apple admits AirPods 3 were a waste of money

Campaign failed, needs to regroup and focus on key objectives

Fruity and nutty cargo cult Apple has admitted that its over-hyped and pricy AirPods 3 which were launched just last year were a disaster.

For those who came in late, the AirPods 3, which were reviewed by the Tame Apple Press as being "perfect for Apple users" presumably because they were stupid enough to buy them, really were expensive rubbish.  No matter how hard Apple and its minions in TAPs tried they could not off-load enough of them.

The tech giant's product strategy was about as successful as Tsar Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Apple expected users to be there with standing ovations and flowers only to find themselves greeted by yawns and disinterest.

Veteran Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple's cunning plan had failed and that demand for the recently-launched AirPods 3 is "significantly lower" than AirPods 2, with orders cut by about 30 per cent in total after they were launched alongside the new iPhone 13.

In a tweet, Kuo said he believes that Apple will discontinue the current model of the AirPods Pro later this year "to avoid repeating the same mistake" with its high-end earphones in 2022.

So in other words, Apple is going to regroup pretend the initial campaign did not happen and focus on a narrower marketing objective.  Where have we heard that before?
