First Snapdragon and many Helios

Meizu has just announced that it reached a licensing agreement with Qualcomm and the leaked roadmap shows a few unannounced MediaTek SoCs as well as the company’s first Qualcomm powered phone. 

Helio X20 costs Yuan 1999 (270 Eur, $299)

After Meizu MX5 came the MX6 and yet again the company chose the deca-core Helio X20 processor and packed it in a 5.5 inch phone that is 7.25 millimeters thin. Let’s not forget that the Helio X20 also brings the Cat 6. modem in play with support for carrier aggregation. 

Three colours, 32GB and 64GB

The wait for the most significant Helio X25 design is over. The Meizu Pro 6 is out with its 5.2 inch phone, pressure sensitive screen, USB Type-C with 3.1 speeds, HiFi lite and fast charging.

Meizu MX6 would make more sense

Fudzilla has reported multiple times that Meizu will get a shiny new Helio chip and this has been confirmed by Meizu boss Bai Yongxiang at the MediaTek Helio X20 / X25 launch event.

Mediatek's long SoC tradition continues

The Meizu MX6 looks set to ship with a MediaTek Helios X20 ten core and Mali T880 MP4 GPU under the bonnet.
