Intel confirms

There has been a lot of talk that Havendale Intel's CPU with an integrated IGP will get delayed to early 2010.

Nehalem's chief architect has confirmed that both Havendale and Lynnfield cores, based on 45nm Nehalem architecture, are still on track for 2H 2009 launch. This is the official line since IDF, and nothing has changed so far.

We learned yesterday that the cores on these CPUs are the same, but Intel can easily change the number of cores, number of memory channels, number of QPI links, size of L3 cache, type of memory, power management and put in an integrated graphic. Intel calls this part an uncore part of the CPU.

We will keep our eyes open, but it looks that we will have to wait for a year to see these CPUs in market, but yet again this was the original plan to begin with.
