Phenom X4 9950, famous for its 140W TDP and based on a not so successful Agena 65W Quad core is reaching its end of life status in late Q1 2009. If you order one in this quarter you might be receiving your orders by late Q3 2009, when AMD plans to ship the last of them to customers.

Many are not aware that Phenom X4 9950 has its 125W TDP brother and this one will live to see another quarter. The 125W will reach EOL, End of Life cycle in late Q2 2009 while the last of them should ship in Q4 2009.

AMD hopes to completely replace Agena quad and Tolman 65nm three cores by Q4 2009 and continue with 45nm processors. This will be the end of one, not so successful era for AMD.
