Mobile processor expansion

Samsung is planning to pour $4 billion in its Texas based chip plant. Samsung has already invested $9 billion in Samsung Austin Semiconductor over the past 16 years.

The latest investment will be used to upgrade the production line, geared for mobile processors. Production is expected to start in the second half of 2013.

So, if Governor Rick Perry has his way, we might see Exynos 6 chips with “Made in the Republic of Texas” stamped on top.
