Almost done

While they have been saying that Samsung's 64-bit Exynos SoC is in its final stages of developement for quite some time, the Korean press is now reporting that the same chip is "almost done" and should be ready in time to be the star of Samsung's future flagship Galaxy smartphone.

According to the fresh report from ITToday.co.kr, Samsung is already done with the difficult part of the development process and is currently ironing out the technical tweaks and other minor logistics-related steps. The 64-bit Exynos SoC, or Exynos 5430, will most likely show up in Samsung Galaxy S5 flagship rumored to be coming a bit earlier than expected, early next year. The new SoC will be able to address more memory and have support for DDR4 memory as well.

The chip is most likely based on octa-core design with "Heterogenous Multi-Processing Capabilities" (HMP) for true-octa experience, similar to what they did with Exynos 5410 and 5420 SoCs seen in certain Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 smartphones.
