Qualcomm has unexpectedly released its first 64-bit SoC, but if you were expecting a high-end beast you may be in for a surprise. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 is aimed at the Chinese market and it is not a high end part. It is a 28nm SoC with Adreno 306 graphics (yes, 306, no typo) and LTE support.

Snapdragon 410 chipsets also feature Qualcomm Technologies' Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM and NFC functionality, and support all major navigation constellations: GPS, GLONASS, and China’s new BeiDou, which helps deliver enhanced accuracy and speed of Location data to Snapdragon-enabled handsets.

The chipset should end up in sub $150 phones designed for the Chinese market.

“The Snapdragon 410 chipset will also be the first of many 64-bit capable processors as Qualcomm Technologies helps lead the transition of the mobile ecosystem to 64-bit processing,” said Jeff Lorbeck, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Qualcomm Technologies, China.
