To be available in several versions, the EK-Velocity sTR4 block uses a 3rd generation design with a full-cover cold plate, which means that it makes a direct touch with the entire Threadripper IHS with fin structure covering the entire multi-die CPU layout, bringing improved cooling performance and heat transfer compared to earlier generation blocks.
EK Water Blocks was keen to note that the new EK-Velocity sTR4 water block was completely redesigned to cope with higher core count HEDT CPUs and it comes with a dense micro-fin structure with 91 wide grooves, which should provide much better heat transfer.
The EK-Velocity sTR4 block features a nickel-plated and polished copper base, in order to provide best possible heat transfer between the IHS and the block, while the top is made from CNC POM Acetal, acrylic glass or nickel-plated brass, depending on the version. It also uses a special "pre-assembled error-preventing" mounting mechanism which provides easy installation and makes it compatible with AMD Socket SP3 motherboards.
The EK-Velocity sTR4 block is also available in D-RGB versions which come with replaceable LED strip and is compatible with all major RGB control software.
The EK-Velocity sTR4 water blocks should be already available via EK Webshop or its Partner Reseller Network with a price ranging from €99.90 to €129.90, depending on the version.
