Samsung unveils rugged T7 Shield Portable SSD

The newest addition to the T7 Portable SSD lineup

Samsung has announced its latest addition to the T7 Portable series of SSDs (PSSDs), the Samsung T7 Shield, promising exceptional performance and reliability in a rugged, durable, and credit card size design.

Although it is packed in a compact chassis, the T7 Shield is Samsung's most durable PSSD to date, featuring IP65 certification, and weighs just 98g.

According to details provided by Samsung, the T7 Shield uses USB 3.2 Gen2 standard, and its read and write sequential performance peaks at 1,050MB/s for read and 1,000MB/s for write, making it 9.5 times faster than external HDDs, and twice as fast as its predecessor, the Samsung T5.

The Samsung T7 Shield will be available in 1TB and 2TB versions, and beige, black, and blue color options. The price is set at $159.99 for the 1TB and $289.99 for the 2TB version. Currently, the Samsung T7 Shield 1TB is available at Amazon.com for $134.99, while the 2TB version is selling at $239.99
