Computex 2024: Plenty of Intel Z890 motherboards at the Computex 2024 show floor

While Intel did not confirm the official launch date of the upcoming Arrow Lake-S CPUs, it has now reported that these Core Ultra 200 desktop chips could launch in October. There were plenty of Intel next-gen chipset motherboards at the Computex 2024 show floor and some motherboard makers have even revealed the Z890 name.

While Intel's CEO, Pat Gelsinger, only confirmed during the Computex keynote that Arrow Lake desktop CPUs are planned later this year, followed by laptop chips later, managed to confirm that these are expected to come to retail shelves in October, followed by a proper unveiling at the next event in September.

The information comes from board partners at the show, which were keen to show the next-generation motherboards based on the LGA-1851 socket, and while Intel has yet to confirm the chipset name, some motherboard makers have jumped the gun and revealed the Z890 chipset name, as shown over at

The Intel Core Ultra 200K series of desktop CPUs will most likely be launched at the September Innovation event, which makes Intel late by around three months considering that AMD has already announced the launch of its new Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 series CPUs for July.
