The couple who sued Google for its Street View capture of their home have managed to win a very small victory. In April 2008, Aaron and Christine Boring (no really) filed a lawsuit on multiple counts against Google over Google Maps' Street View images of their private road.
It was pretty much a waste of time. Much of the information was already available to the public and many of the complaints were chucked out.
After mulling over all the evidence the Judge decided that the Boring case was worth a dollar. Technically a win but not much cash for emotional duress and the effort involved.
The couple had pursued the only viable charge which was Trespass. Two and half years later the court ruled that, technically, they have a point.
However the did not seem to be that worried about privacy in other venues. In fact they forgot to seal the suit so their names wouldn't be printed.
