Apple released a “new” iPod Touch

by on29 May 2019

Nothing really to see here

The fruity-cargo cult Apple has once again pushed back the boundaries of technology with its latest, super-cool, pan-intelligent, iPod Touch… nah not really it has shoved out the same four year old iPod touch and stuck a new chip inside.

The Tame Apple Press has done its best to claim the new iPod Touch with A10 fusion chip is somehow worth upgrading to but really all the A10 chip does is support unused features like FaceTime chats and improved augmented reality capabilities.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing was spinning like a mad thing claiming the performance was twice as fast as before and provided “augmented reality” which is not exactly a feature you use to play music.

The lacklustre update is the first time Apple’s updated the iPod Touch since 2015, there’s no FaceID or TouchID.

Here’s the pricing for all versions:

 32GB: $199

 128GB: $299

  256GB: $399

Apple could have included a new screen and better speakers to make it a more attractive buy. However, that would have taken considerable effort and might have hurt other Apple products like the iPad.
