While the numbers look big, Google's Pixel has a small number of sales so this is all relative. Google has two per cent of the North American market share, having shipped 800,000 devices in the second quarter. It is fifth place, behind Apple (52 per cent), Samsung (26 per cent), Lenovo/Motorola (nine per cent), and TCL (five per cent).
The Tame Apple Press has rushed to point out that the top five best-selling models were all iPhones and the first Android phone on the list, the flagship Galaxy S22 Ultra is sixth place.
What is surprising for civilised countries is how high Apple's market share is in the US as it would appear that a large chunk of the US seems to think it is a good deal.
