Sit down Apple

Beancounters
at the research firm ChangeWave have done some number crunching and think that Apple's tablet might sell well. The only problem is that the outfit's polling about technology purchasing habits revealed that people would only be interested if it was cheap enough.

Of the 75 percent of those who said they were interested were willing to pay $500 or more, while only 37 percent would go over $700. Alas with the $1000 tag being suggested, this statistic means that Apple could be onto a huge turkey similar to its previous Apple Newton efforts.

Changewave asked its 3314 respondents how likely they would be to buy a potential Apple tablet for themselves or someone else. Of those questioned, 4 percent said they were "very likely" and 14 percent "somewhat likely."
