Lenovo showcases first Ivy Bridge notebook
CES 2012: T430 prototype
Lenovo showcased a few notebooks at CES, including X1 and X1 Hybrid notebooks, but we stopped by to check out the non-ultrabook T430 series.
This is the first Ivy Bridge, 22nm based notebook from Lenovo and it was just slightly thicker than regular Lenovo designs.
The T430 will support all Ivy Bridge series parts, all the way up to Core i7 processors. Lenovo PR representatives told us that despite the new processor, the new series is very closely related to the 420 series, and obviously the design reveals a lot of similarities.
The notebook has discrete graphics, courtesy of Nvidia, and Optimus switchable graphics support is also on board. However, we didn’t hear which particular GPU was inside.
Lenovo hopes to ship the new series later this year, definitely after April 8th, the Core i 3000 series launch.
