A few years back MSI decided that its future lay in gaming notebooks as the company didn't have much luck in high-end home notebooks and it failed to be the most affordable one. Gaming notebooks tend to do well in Nordic countries, at least that is what MSI told us a while ago and a future notebook called GS60 should continue the tradition.

This is one of the many upcoming notebooks based on Nvidia's new Maxwell architecture that needs less power than its Kepler predecessor and therefore has a chance for very bright future in gaming notebooks this year. This is a 15.6-notebook with 2880x1620 resolution screen which means it's on a par with Macbook Pro Retina machines and the machine comes with Core i7, dual SSD storage, additional HDD, 802.11ac and of course a Maxwell GPU.

This is the notebook that MSI plans to show at Cebit 2014, the show that starts today in Hannover Germany and we hope to learn a bit more about Maxwell-based notebook GPUs. The notebook should hit the market in April, with a €1,600 to €2,000 price tag which is a lot for any notebook, but some gamers might be willing to spend as much for such a great resolution and that much horsepower. We would not be surprised to see new Alienware or HP machines with Maxwell inside as well as many others. In addition, the "3K" 2880x1620 resolution might be a popular feature for the high end this year.

We expect to see them announced before the end of the month as Nvidia kicks off its biggest GPU technology conference on March 24th and we expect to see a lot about all kind of Maxwell, Tegra K1 and Denver related demos.
