Asus gives Zenbook UX305 a Skylake Core M CPU

Plenty to offer for US $699

Asus' Zenbook UX305 has been a decent Ultrabook even when it was paired up with a Broadwell CPU, but now Asus has made it even better by upgrading it with a Skylake Core m3 CPU without raising the price.

Priced at US $699 and spotted by Techreport.com, the Zenbook UX305 offers quite a lot for its price, packing an aluminum body, a 13.3-inch full HD 1920x1080 IPS screen, 8GB of RAM and even a 256GB SSD. While the Core M 5Y10 Broadwell dual-core CPU with Hyper-Threading with HD Graphics 5300 was a decent performer, the Skylake-based Core m3 6Y30 dual-core CPU with Intel HD 515 GPU is certainly a better option, especially if it sells for the same price.

Asus also has quite a few other versions of the ZenBook UX300 series Ultrabook, including the higher-resolution 3200x1800 screen on the UX305C as well as a more powerful Zenbook UX303UA with Core i5-6200U CPU, priced at US $849, or the Core i7-6500U equipped UX303UB with Geforce 940M GPU, 12GB of RAM and 512GB SSD for US $1,199.

The Broadwell-equipped Zenbook will continue to sell under the UX305F model name for US $619, while the UX305 will now have the aforementioned Skylake CPU for US $699.
