300,000 download Dead Rising prequel
Here is something we don’t think anyone saw coming. Capcom has confirmed that the Dead Rising: Case Zero, which is a prequel being sold on Xbox Live Arcade for the upcoming release, has broken the record for one-week sales.

Yes, that’s right: Case Zero has crushed the previous record by selling 300,000 downloads in the first week of release. The release of Case Zero was an exclusive for Xbox 360 owners that allow players to search for a cure for the infected daughter of series star Chuck Greene. The leaderboards within the game do confirm that over 300,000 players have registered a score.

Capcom is preparing for the release of Dead Rising 2, with a release of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions expected on September 24th. The PC version is set to arrive a week later on September 28th. The excellent sales of Case Zero seem to suggest that Dead Rising 2 could be much bigger than the conservative estimates that the company and analysts are projecting for the title.
