With the demo for Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One released for download today, Microsoft and Playground Games has announced some additional news surrounding the release of Forza Horizon 2. The biggest news is perhaps that all buyers of Forza Horizon 2 will be able to download a free Forza Horizon 2 Launch Bonus Car Pack.
The Launch Bonus Car Pack will be released the same day as the game and include eight additional cars from the Horizon 2 car roster. The pack will give users the 1956 Ford F-100, 2015 Ford Mustang GT, Ford 2003 Focus RS, 1997 Land Rover Defender 90, 1993 Clio Williams, 1987 Buick Regal GNX, 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV, 1968 and Abarth 595 essesse.
Like Forza Motorsport 5, Forza Horizon 2 will be offering a VIP Membership for $19.99, but if you are currently a Forza 5 VIP member, it will only cost you $9.99. VIP Membership will have its privileges like the VIP Car Pack which will include five additional cars. The five cars to be included in the VIP Car Pack are 2012 Lamborghini Urus, 2014 Tesla Model S, 1967 Ferrari 330 P4, 1949 Mercury Coupe, and the 2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO. The only catch is that current Forza Motorsport 5 VIPs will only receive a $10 discount on digital purchases of Forza Horizon 2 VIP membership or any Forza Horizon 2 digital offer that includes VIP membership. VIP members will also enjoy 2x player in-game reward acceleration, access to exclusive multiplayer events, in-game gifts from the Forza community team, and special in-game recognition.
Forza Horizon 2 will also be offering a Season Car Pass which will give players six monthly add-on packs that will start in October. Each pack will include at least five cars for $24.99. In addition if you purchase the Season Car Pass you will also get an additional bonus car which is the 2010 Noble M600.
Those Forza Horizon 2 players that download the demo, complete at least one event in the demo before October 31st and purchase the full version of Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One will also get a the bonus of a 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STi that will be added to your garage within a week after the game is released.
In addition if you opt to go for the digital download version (which you can start pre-loading as soon as you buy it, so it will be ready to play on release day) you can choose from the Forza Horizon 2 Day One Deluxe Edition or the Forza Horizon 2 Day One Ultimate Edition. Basically, it comes as little surprise, but the Deluxe Edition gives you everything you get with the retail Day One Edition, plus the VIP Membership. If you want it all digital, you can opt for the Ultimate Edition which gives you everything you get in the Day One Retail Edition, plus the VIP Membership and the Season Car Pass. As near as we can tell there is no additional bonus for buying the Deluxe or Ultimate edition that you couldn’t get by just buying the VIP membership and Season Pass from the store for your retail Day One Edition.
By the way it is also now official that Forza Horizon 2 has gone gold and been released to manufacturing. It will make its scheduled release date of September 30th in North America and October 3rd in Europe.
