Zen and Vega on a dual-core APU

AMD has decided to keep the Athlon brand alive and has launched the Athlon 200GE, an entry-level APU with two Zen-cores with SMT-enabled, as well as Vega graphics with 3CUs, all at $55.

AMD will keep AM4 and TR4 sockets

Ryzen 7 2700U and Ryzen 5 2500U chips

AMD has now made its Mobile Ryzen platform official, matching its Zen CPU architecture with Vega GPU architecture on a single die. 12nm after 2018 and 7nm for 2019

One thing that you need to think about after the launch of the Zen and EPYC is that the company's CTO is claiming that Zen 2 will continue as a success story.

Will take some time

Fudzilla has already mentioned Jim Keller, the hardware engineer that was one of the key people for finishing what was considered to be the overambitious AMD Zen CPU project. Keller now works for Tesla, and our well-informed friends confirmed that he is building a self-driving platform for the company. 

K12 ARM future unconfirmed

We're not sure if many people caught the fact that in last week's financial analyst update, AMD didn’t mention anything about the K12 and future ARM server products. We reached out and asked it for a comment. 

Zen 2 aka Rome aka Starship 7nm

In June 2016 Fudzilla exclusively wrote that AMD will do a 7nm follow up architecture for its data center / server. It may have taken its time, but AMD confirmed this last week.
