Nvidia pricing falling fast

by on17 August 2022

Apparently it is working with partners to reduce prices more

While we have been reporting how the price of Nvidia GPUs is falling for a while, it seems that the company wants the prices to drop further and is having a quiet word with its partners to make it so.

Apparently the GPU maker named after a vengency daemon has been caught short by the sudden lack of interest in cryptomining scams and has rather a lot of chips and not enough customers to buy them.

NVIDIA is working with board partners to reduce the price of their cards, especially the high-end RTX 3090 series which are to be replaced in just two months as the company introduces RTX 40/Ada series. Promotions such as EVGA’s 3090 Ti for 1150 USD are likely to return soon, although such promotions are localized and only last for a few days.

ZOL reports that NVIDIA wants to take even more aggressive action by reducing the GPU pricing even lower than AMD, who are reportedly also planning similar actions.

The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hell on earth yarn claiming that at the end of August, NVIDIA and AMD will take more aggressive actions to reduce the price of graphics cards. Horror of horrors, the rumour says, NVIDIA will cut prices more than AMD.

The reason for this is that NVIDIA has even less time than AMD, who are now targeting November for Radeon RX 7000 series launch.

Hopefully, the new price adjustment will also affect RTX 3060/3070 series, which for some reasons can still be found at a higher than the suggested price.
