Previously available in 400GB and 800GB capacities, the new Corsair Neutron NX500 SSD model raises capacity to a whole new level, hitting 1.6TB. Based on the same HHHL (half height, half length) PCB, the Neutron NX500 1.6TB SSD, uses Phison E7 PCIe controller (PS5007-E7) paired up with Toshiba's 15nm MLC NAND. As noted, it uses PCIe 3.0 x4 interface with NVMe protocol.
Performance-wise, its sequential performance peaks at up to 3000MB/s for read and up to 2300MB/s for write with random performance reaching up to 300K IOPS for read and up to 270K IOPS for write.
As was the case with earlier launched NX500 SSD models, this one also has a black PCB, a large black aluminum heatsink, and a backplate.
What makes the Corsair's NX500 series impressive is the five year warranty. Unfortunately, high SSD capacity also comes with a high price tag, so Corsair's NX500 1.6TB SSD is priced at US $1575/€1770/£1615.
