The Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact, which are Sony's latest smartphones, have first appeared in the UK, where Carphone Warehouse had both listed on for £599 and £499, respectively. The listing said that the XZ1 will start shipping on September 22 while the XZ1 Compact should ship on September 29.
As of today, both the Xperia XZ1 and the XZ1 were spotted in Germany as well, where Sony's own web shop and Mediamarkt had them for €700 and €600, respectively. As was the case in the UK, those that pre-order the phone by September 22, will be getting a free pair of h.ear wireless headphones.
In case you missed them earlier, both the Sony Xperia XZ1 and the XZ1 Compact share a lot of similarities, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM, the same 19-megapixel main camera with EIS, phase detection, and laser autofocus as well as the same 2,700mAh battery. There are also quite a few differences, as the XZ1 Compact version has a 4.6-inch 720p screen, while the XZ1 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen. The XZ1 Compact also uses a cheaper plastic case, while the Xperia XZ1 uses metal casing. Both have IP65/68 rating as well as the side-mounted fingerprint reader, which is a novelty in the smartphone market.
The rest of the Europe should get these phones soon but it appears that they will only start shipping late this month.
