Design-wise, Apple did not make any big changes, you still get rounded corners, with front and back glass and stainless steel frame. the iPhone 11 Pro measures at 144x71.4x8.1mm and weighs 188g, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max measures 158x 77.8x8.1mm and weighs 226g, making it slightly larger and heavier compared to the iPhone XS Max.
Both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max usea similar OLED panel as their predecessors, the XS and the XS Max, or as Apple calls it, Super Retina XDR display. The OLED panel is quite impressive as it offers up to 1,200 nits of brightness, 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
The iPhone 11 Pro comes with a 5.8-inch screen with 2436x1125 resolution, leaving it with 458ppi of pixel density, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch one with slightly higher 2688x1242 resolution, so it gets the same 458 pixel density.
As was the case with the iPhone 11, the Pro versions also has the new A13 Bionic SoC, claiming up to 20 percent faster CPU cores, both two performance and four efficiency ones, and up to 20 percent faster 4-core GPU, all while having much better power efficiency.
Apple adds another 12MP camera module for triple rear camera system
Another update for both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max is the rear camera system, which has the additional 12-megapixel sensor. The main one is still 12-megapixel, f/1.8 26mm one with IOS and DPAF, as well as another 12-megapixel sensor with OIS and DPAF, which got different f/2.0 aperture and the same 52mm (2x optical zoom) lens.
The new addition is the third 12-megapixel sensor placed behind 13mm (120-degree) ultra-wide lens, and these three should offer better focus, exposure and more.
The front camera now has a 12-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture and probably the same lens, as well as TOF 3D camera with support for 4K recording.
Better battery life and more power from the charger
Apple also said new iPhone 11 Pro smartphones should provide better battery life compared to predecessors, so the iPhone 11 Pro lasts up to 4 hours longer than iPhone XS, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max lasts up to 5 hours longer than iPhone XS Max. It is either due to a bigger battery or better power efficiency, or both of these combined.
New Pro smartphones also have a new 18W charger, which should charge them a bit faster.
