iPhone 14 bug list keeps increasing

Looks like this one is a lemon but still claims it is the zest

The list of issues for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro buyers keeps getting longer and it seems another day can't go by without a fanboy complaining about another.

First there were iMessage and FaceTime activation errors, CarPlay and data migration bugs and random reboots, the phones calling emergency services and now a survey of fanbois has dug up some more.

YouTuber Marques Brownlee asked iPhone 14 owners about their experiences with the new range, of the circa 5,000 responses, the overwhelming majority complained about bugs — and three, in particular, stood out.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro buyers appear to have been disproportionately impacted by bugs with the new lock screen. These include glitching data, and an auto-rotate bug when customising the lock screen.

Dynamic Island, which was supposed to be the highlight of the iPhone 14 launch serves up a wide array of graphical glitches. These include the software bubble moving to the wrong place, sticking mid-animation and refusing to close. Some of which can have a significant impact on usability.

The iPhone 14 battery drain issues are a problem. Brownlee said that it only goes away if you disable the always-on display. Apple’s always-on display has proved controversial, with complaints that it is too bright compared to rivals. Aside from the battery concerns this causes, it creates the impression that the phone is unlocked.

There are plenty of other problems, such as Control Centre glitches, autofocus issues, and CarPlay issues calling emergency services.

Apple is expected to release iOS 16.0.3 shortly, its third dedicated bug fix in less than a month. iOS 16.1, a bigger update that also adds new features, should arrive by the end of the month.  One would have thought they could have solved all these issues by doing a proper Q&A before the operating system and phones left the factory.
