855, 5G, ultrasonic sensor
The Galaxy S10 series and the Galaxy Fold are the next chapter in Samsung’s history and the company decided to use multiple Qualcomm products to power the S10, 10+ and the Galaxy S10 5G.
Qualcomm RF front end too
CES 2019 press conferences are firing in series and this is traditionally one of the business weeks in the year. Qualcomm took the time to announce quite a few Automotive breakthroughs and the fact that they power 30+ 5G designs expected in 2019.
Coming in 2019
OnePlus is part of the big six alliance committed to bringing their 5G phones in 2019 and it is not surprising that this is still on schedule. China, the US, and a few European countries will have 5G networks ready in the course of 2019.
5G, Qualcomm and Exynos mix
The chaps at XDA developers have got their hands on a Galaxy S9+ Android 9.0 / Pie ROM and found proof and the codenames for existing and future Galaxy S10 phones.
Joins Oppo, Xiaomi, Moto 5G cover
It looks like China based smartphone manufacturers are taking 5G very seriously. In recent weeks, Oppo and Xiaomi showed their versions of high-end phones running 5G NR and now Vivo has done the same.
No 5G NR form factor devices yet
The IFA consumer trade show has just finished, and we wanted to share a bit about 5G with focus on the big silicon manufacturers. Both Samsung and Huawei didn’t show anything at the show, while both companies reassured us that they will have something later.
Apple lover stuck with slower choice
Qualcomm has been signaling since the beginning of the 2018 that it might not end up in Apple's iPhone 2018 and at its last financial conference call it officially confirmed it.
Huawei plans to make CPE ((customer premises equipment) infrastructure devices in the first half of 2019 but it looks like 5G for phones won’t happen before 2H 2019.
Will be finished this year
3GPP has locked the 5G standard and Qualcomm’s first 5G modem, called the X50, will enter production in the latter part of the year. It is a 10nm chip that goes arm in arm with Snapdragon 855.
Not an early adopter
Apple is known for not being an early adopter when it comes to new wireless standards. According to people close to the matter, Apple 2019 iPhone won’t have 5G capability. Intel might even be ready with its 5G PC solution.
