Sony has unveiled its two latest flagship smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona and although these are not as curved as expected, Sony has at least somewhat changed its boring design and equipped both smartphones with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 SoC.

It looks as if the cooperation between Sony and MediaTek will continue in 2017 too. A year after Sony announced the Xperia XA and the 6-inch XA Ultra, the company announced that the Helio P20 found its way in Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra.

Can’t show it off at MWC
As we thought, Sony will not be announcing its flagship Xperia smartphone at MWC this month because Samsung appears to be hoarding the chips.
Promising chipset at MWC
Sony has sent out the invites for the press conference at the Mobile World Congress and it is expected to launch a new version of Xperia X and Xperia XA. The Sony G3221 phone, which we expect to launch as the Xperia XA, features 16nm Helio P20.
