Samsung has already confirmed that it will launch a  refurbished Galaxy Note 7 units earlier and the latest piece of information suggests the company will offer them at a 50 percent lower price.

Update affects less than seven percent of remaining owners

Samsung has been slowly receiving any remaining recalled Galaxy Note 7 units over the past week since it issued an expanded voluntary recall statement on its support website, as we reported.

Second recall is possible, but no announcement yet

Back in August, when the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 launched, reports surfaced of battery problems causing device overheating and combustion, and the company issued a global device recall after several people  experienced property loss and various minor injuries.

In South Korea and the United States

Samsung says that it has got back more than 60 percent of recalled Galaxy Note 7 smartphones sold in South Korea and the United States.

Koreans think it is an over reaction

Korean experts are getting a little miffed at the way that the US government is handling Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 recall and is starting to suspect that it is an attempt to protect Apple.

Forbidden to use on this flight

One of the many flights that I took this year was slightly different. The flight attendant made an announcement that it is forbidden to use Galaxy Note 7 onboard on Niki airlines – a subsidiary of Air Berlin. 

Snubs its own flaming subsidiary

Samsung has indicated it will from now on use all batteries for its device from China's ATL after its own SDI subsidiary embarrassed it.

2.5 million phones being returned

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 recall sounds like one of the biggest in the last few years and it looks like the company has to recover as many as 2.5 million phones from its customers. This is likely to cost Samsung close to a billion dollars and it will eat up any potential profits it was making from these phones. 

Wants to get the inside trouser measurement of the market

Samsung’s adding tailor-made features to its large-screen Galaxy Note 7 are causing the phone to be a sensation in China.
