Huawei appears to be gearing up for the launch of its new mid-range smartphone.

Ranks third worldwide

After staying in second place in the overall Chinese smartphone market for two consecutive quarters, Huawei has managed to overtake Oppo to retake the top spot in the region during Q1 2017, according to a recent report from Canalys.

Growth outlook of 10 to 15 percent 

MediaTek, the Taiwan-based fabless semiconductor company known for its system-on-chip solutions in smartphone and home theater equipment, is expected to post slower than expected growth for Q2 2017 based on a slightly less-optimistic outlook from market observers.

According to the latest report, Nvidia plans to launch next-generation mainstream segment graphics cards, based on GP106 GPU, in Autumn, or late Q3/early Q4 2016.

On Tuesday, Samsung announced the newest member of its Exynos 7 Octa processor lineup, the Exynos 7 Octa 7870. This SoC is built on the company’s 14-nanometer Low-Power-Plus (LPP) FinFET process technology for next-generation midrange smartphones and will compete with Qualcomm’s recently announced 14-nanometer Snapdragon 625 eight-core SoC.
