Well, it is the third, as Qualcomm and Huawei have already announced that they sampled or in production of their 7nm Phone SoCs.

Both TSMC don’t worry about GloFo

The news that GlobalFoundries is walking away from 7nm manufacturing brought a lot of uncertainty to AMD’s roadmap and Mark Papermaster the CTO of the company has just posted a blog comforting investors and assuring customers that both CPU and GPU designs at 7nm are in safe hands at TSMC.

TSMC has warned that several of its fabrication plants suffered virus infections on 3 August disrupting production.

Financial community got it wrong

After Intel announced that it had to delay its 10nm production to 2019,  financial analysts around the world reacted with negative stock comments and valuation. Most of them got things wrong. Intel with its $17 billion highest ever revenue showed magnificent growth in the data center and it made that $17 billion without 10nm.

Will invest $25 billion

TSMC has said it expects to invest $25 billion in 5-nanometer node technology.
