Ann Makosinski, an 18-year old student has created a mug that can charge your phone using the residual heat from the hot drink in your mug to charge your device.
This is Makosinski’s second really cool idea. When she was 15, she invented a flashlight powered by your body-heat.
She reasoned that when you first get your morning coffee it is always too hot to drink and smartphones have batteries that die too fast.
She was awarded $50,000 from Shell this month for her resolution to “reduce the impact on the electrical grid by patenting body-heat-generated power.
