Qualcomm shows what its Snapdragon X Series processors can do

Computex 2024: Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung declare new age of PC

Qualcomm's President and CEO, Cristiano Amon (pictured), took to the stage at Computex with top figures from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft, and Samsung to show the transformation happening in the PC world, thanks to the new Copilot+ PCs equipped with Snapdragon X Series processors.

For those who only read Apple-authorised tech magazines, there has been much buzz about what PCs with Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors can do with the Copilot+ PC,

These devices boast extended battery life, better efficiency, and advanced on-device AI capabilities, powered by the fastest and most efficient laptop NPU.

Amon highlighted the NPU's role in setting Snapdragon X-powered PCs apart. The NPU enhances performance and energy efficiency by handling AI tasks usually done by the CPU and GPU.

He said: "The PC has been reinvented. Copilot+ PCs, driven by Snapdragon X Elite, are the quickest and smartest Windows PCs to date, with AI deeply integrated and capable of lasting several days on a single charge."

"I'm thankful for the partners who stood with me today to mark this pivotal moment. We're leading the way with Snapdragon-powered Windows Copilot+ PCs, transforming personal computing and supporting developers in crafting apps for this new era."

The first batch of over 20 Copilot+ PCs, powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors, is now up for pre-order and will hit major retail outlets on 18 June.
