GTA blamed for spate of car jackings

Less messy than burning witches

A US politician is blaming the increase in car jacking crime in the fair city of Chicago on computer game Grand Theft Auto.

GTA has been blamed by politicians for nearly every criminal event in the US, presumably because it makes an easy scapegoat and you can't burn witches any more.

So when the number of car jackings more than doubling in the city of Chicago during 2020, Democratic State Representative Marcus William insisted it must be due to witches  violent computer games.

GTA has been around a lot longer than 2020 and car jacking is pretty much a game theme, why in 2020 youth should suddenly be influenced now and not before but hey since when did logic and facts get in the way of "common sense"?

Williams said that "Grand Theft Auto' and other violent video games are getting in the minds of our young people and perpetuating the normalcy of carjacking. Car jacking is not normal and car jacking must stop. He plans on introducing a bill to ban sales of the game in the state of Illinois.

Fortunately banning the game would be incredibly difficult  If the law passes and gets the game off store shelves in Illinois, people would buy it online.
