Nvidia has a new VP of investor relations and Rob Csongor is an Nvidia veteran that we know for years now. He used to take care of product marketing and launched chips as far as NV1 and now Rob took Mike Hara’s place taking care of investors.

 

Rob told investors and the rest of the world that Kal El is expected this holiday season. He didn’t go into detail and this is all we got officially from Nvidia. Be warned that this might mean that chips will be available for holidays, not the actual products, but out industry sources are still sticking that we will see actual tablets this year, most likely early Q4 2011.

Rob also commented that Kal El has many design wins but again, he failed to mention any details. Tegra 2 also found its way in Samsung Galaxy R and Motorola Photon 4G.

Nvidia CEO Jen Hsun Huan better known as Jensen mentioned in Q&A that in this year Nvidia launched 6 new phones and 5 new tablets based on Tegra chips and next quarter and year they should be more. Tegra better be good as it has to replace the big gap that Nvidia left when it gave up the MCP chipset business.
