Apple’s new iPhone could launch as early as August 7, a couple of months ahead of the previously rumoured October launch.

The new prophet of the iOS faith is said to feature a bigger 4-inch screen in a new aspect ratio, along with NFC, aluminium build and a next generation processor, with either two or four cores depending on who you ask.

The heretic Android tribes of the Far East will have their work cut out for them, as their newest 720p superphones will finally have to face a worthy adversary from Cupertino.

Hopefully the new iPhone will prompt Android vendors to speed up deployment of Jelly Bean updates. Once they are done with ICS updates, of course.
