Rumors about alleged specs of the upcoming iPhone should always be taken with a large grain of salt and honestly nothing is certain until we see it officially announced at Apple's September 12th press event. But according to a new photo of the alleged logic board the rumor mill is now saying that Apple's newest iPhone might sport the new A6 chip rather than a variant of the old A5.

Most rumors have focused on the actual design of the new iPhone as well as its screen and details regarding the actual insides and the chip itself so we simply could not let this one go. There have been some rumors that Apple would rather go for A5x chip, but if the alleged logic board picture proves to be true we might see a whole new A6 chip that is, according to rumors again, a quad-core chip based on Samsung's Exynos 4 design. The rest of the rumors put a smaller dock connector, display with in-cell touch and LTE as a part of the feature list for the new iPhone and now we have a quad-core chip to add to that list.

Of course, everything should be clear on September 12th when Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone.
