Apple planning new 10.5-inch iPads

Bigger tablets are more popular with enterprises

Apple looks set to launch a 10.5-inch iPad in 2017, because businesses and schools want them – apparently.

According to Digitimes production of the new tablet will start next week.  Apparently it has noticed that while no one really has a use for tablets any more the larger 10-inch and larger tablets have been popular among enterprises and the education sector in the US.

The fruity tax-dodging cargo-cult feels that its existing 9.7-inch iPad may be too small and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro too expensive. It could of course drop the price of the 12.9 inch tablet, but then Apple's entire universe of space and time would collapse as people started seeing their shiny toys as cheap.  Having said that, Apple is planning to drop the price of its 9.7 model which it acknowledges is too expensive to compete with the Android models out there.

The 10.5-inch iPad will be equipped with Apple-developed CPU A10X which is also used in 12.9-inch iPad Pro.  Apple thinks it will sell two million of them, Digitimes thinks. When they come out no doubt the Tame Apple Press will hail them as a game changer and claim Apple will sell 40 million of them.
