For those who came in late, Ukraine used the Starlink system, which was mostly underwritten by donors, to effectively fight against the Russians.
Starlink boss Elon [Look at Me] Musk threatened to pull the Starlink service from Ukraine after the country refused to take his foreign policy advice and surrender to that nice Mr Putin.
When it was pointed out that Starlink had not paid for the majority of dishes in Ukraine, Starlink changed the terms and conditions of the devices so they could not be used for military purposes.
Now it seems that the Pentagon has written a cheque which will make all the problems go away.
"We continue to work with a range of global partners to ensure Ukraine has the satellite and communication capabilities they need. Satellite communications constitute a vital layer in Ukraine's overall communications network and the department contracts with Starlink for services of this type," the Pentagon said in a statement to CNBC.
"For operational security reasons and due to the critical nature of these systems -- we do not have additional information regarding specific capabilities, contracts or partners to provide at this time," the statement added.
