The MSM8226 and MSM8626 feature 3G connectivity and Adreno 305 graphics, capable of supporting 13-megapixel cameras and 1080p video capture.
Both chips are stamped out in 28nm and they support multi-SIM capabilities, which we are told are rather big in the Chinese market. They also include a multi-mode radio transceiver necessary to navigate the People Republic of China’s TD-SCDMA, CDMA1xAdv and HSPA+ networks, as well as GLONASS and Beidou.
The new chips will sample in the second quarter of 2013, and as you’ve probably guessed, they are not really meant for the global market.
