Phison Max14um controller peaking at 14GB/s

Sabrent has announced its latest flagship M.2 NVMe SSD, the Rocket 5. Pairing up the latest Phison with Micron 3D TLC NAND, DRAM cache, the Rocket 5 will peak at 14GB/s and come in capacities of up to 4TB.

The storage market has always been interesting and dynamic, one that poked attention over the last few decades. At CES, I got to meet with Chris P Ramseyer, a director of technology marketing at Phison, and shortly after William Harmon, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Sabrent.

Coming soon with transfer speeds of 14,169 MB/s

Sabrent has announced its latest addition to the Rocket SSD lineup, the Rocket 5 Gen 5. Sabrent says it will be coming very soon and promises over 14,000 MB/s in sequential read and over 12,000 MB/s in sequential write speeds.

Perfect for those Steam Decks, Surfaces, and upcoming Asus ROG Ally

Sabrent has launched its newest Rocket Q NVMe Gen 4 SSDs that will come in M.2 2230 form-factor, and in capacities of up to 2TB, making them perfect for upgrading the Steam Deck, Microsoft Surface, upcoming ASUS ROG Ally handheld console, or any other device that is limited to M.2 2230 SSD form-factor.

Hitting well over 12,000MB/s

While you can already buy PCIe Gen5 SSDs that can hit 10,000MB/s, it appears that Sabrent is going to push it a bit further, as it is currently working with Phison in order to bring the new Rocket X5 Gen5 SSD that will go well over 12,000MB/s, and possibly as high as 14,000MB/s. 

PCIe 4.0 and support for Microsoft's DirectStorage API

Sabrent has officially announced its latest Rocket 4 Plus G SSD lineup, a new lineup with optimized O2 GO firmware and support for Microsoft's DirectStorage 4 API.

Makes it one of the fastest options

Sabrent has unveiled a dedicated Playstation 5 heatsink for its Rocket series SSDs, specifically the Rocket 4 Plus SSDs.

Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 4TB sells for $999.99

Sabrent has started teasing the 8TB version of its fastest Rocket 4 Plus M.2 NVMe SSD, which should be coming to retail/e-tail soon.

Fixes several caching and performance issues

Sabrent has released a new firmware update for the Rocket 4 Plus M.2 NVMe SSD series, which addresses some caching and performance issues seen with earlier batches of Rocket 4 Plus SSDs.

HighPoint SSD 7540 controller and eight Sabrent's SSDs

Sabrent has once again started to talk about the Sabrent Rocket Battleship, a PCIe storage solution based on the HighPoint SSD 7540 PCIe Gen4 x16 8-Port NVMe RAID Controller and paired up with eight Sabrent SSDs.
